Project Overview

Scottish Water is progressing with its £38 million investment between Peterhead and Ellon, upgrading 23 kilometres of trunk water main overall.

March 2026 Update - Castle Road, Ellon

We are currently working at the Pumping Station located near the junction of Castle Road and Meadows Way with 3-way traffic lights in place. This work is taking slightly longer than anticipated and as a result the temporary traffic lights will remain in place for slightly longer than initially planned.

Most of the work we are carrying out is on the verge area next to the pumping station. However, to ensure a safe working area, we require to have the lane closure in place on Castle Road.

We estimate the lights will be in place until Friday 3rd April.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of road users and residents. We recognise that Castle Road was closed a few months ago, and we thank you again for your cooperation as we move forward with this essential work.
