Emergency Road Closure on Brompton Terrace

Latest Update - Friday 9 October

We previously carried out emergency sewer repair work in the Brompton Terrace area of Perth. We have since returned to site for further investigatory work and subsequent repairs on Bowerswell Road.

Our teams have completed the first phase of work, replacing a section of ageing sewer infrastructure and preparing the area for reinstatement. This section is expected to be backfilled and resurfaced early next week.

Following further inspections and site investigations, we have identified that a longer section of the sewer requires replacement than originally anticipated. As a result, we will now carry out additional excavation work along approximately 220 metres of Bowerswell Road to ensure a more reliable long-term solution for the network.

To allow this work to be carried out safely, some changes to traffic management will be introduced from Monday 12 October. This includes the temporary closure of access to Duplin Terrace from Bowerswell Road. Signage and diversions will be in place, and we will continue to work closely with affected residents and businesses to minimise disruption wherever possible.

Over the coming week, our teams will undertake further surveys, excavate trial holes to identify existing underground utilities and begin installing the new sewer pipework.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while these essential repairs are carried out. We will continue to provide updates as work progresses.
