Sunnyside Megray mains renewal
Project overview
We are taking care of the water services in your community by upgrading the water pipes between Maryculter and Stonehaven to ensure you continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water, and reduce the chance of pipes bursting.
The works are being carried out by our delivery partner, Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA).
What we are doing
We will be installing approximately 10.5km of new water main within private land and along the B979 between Sunnyside Cottage and the AWPR roundabout.

Current road closures
Details of road closures
B979 will be closed from 13th April for approximately 29 weeks.
Latest information - April 2026
Local access through Netherley from both
directions will be available from 5pm on Friday 3rd April. This access will be maintained
throughout the following week.
The next road closure will start week commencing 13th April. This is a rolling road closure and will start at the south end at Foresters Croft and move
northwards.
Access to and from side roads and individual properties within
the road closure area will be maintained.
Our site team will liaise with the properties within the closure.
The road closure is required to ensure we are carrying out the work as safely as possible.
