Lochportain Private Water Supply Project

Project Overview
Scottish Water is taking care of the water services in your community by installing seven kilometres of new pipeline, which will enable residents and businesses in Lochportain, Cheesebay, and Hoebeg to connect to the public water supply.
Ground investigation works were carried out in March and April 2025, and the detailed design package is in the process of being finalised.
The exact dates and timings will be shared prior to works commencing.
Morrison Construction will be delivering the work on behalf of Scottish Water Horizons.

What Happens Next
We will be running two community drop-in sessions on Tuesday, 3 February 2026 at Lochmaddy Community Hall. The first session will take place at 2PM, followed by a second at 7PM.
During the sessions, we will provide an overview of the project along with information including the route of the pipework and the process of residents becoming Scottish Water customers.
You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the work. Please note, each session will cover the same information so attendance at only one event is advised.
