Tay Rising Sewer Main Repairs
We are carrying out urgent repairs to a leaking sewer pipe between Dundee and Broughty Ferry.
A specialist component has been successfully installed and tested to rectify the fault at the Stannergate pumping station. The excavation will now be backfilled and the area reinstated.
Meanwhile, samples have been taken at the site of a second minor leak on the shoreline near our West Ferry pumping station to help inform our investigation into what has happened.
We have decided to pause the planned excavation of the sewer pipe while further testing will be carried out over the weekend. Following a drone survey at the start of next week we will be able to make a final decision on whether excavation is necessary.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has been kept informed at every stage and thanks to the effective and proactive management of the situation there have been no spills nor environmental impact.
We will continue to work closely with Veolia who operate the pumping stations.
We would like to thank all those affected for their patience and understanding.
