Blocked Sewer Robertson Avenue

We are carrying out overnight emergency sewer works at the junction of Gorgie Road with Robertson Avenue in Edinburgh.

A sewer running beneath Robertson Avenue has become severely blocked causing internal flooding nearby. We will be carrying out overnight work on Wednesday 25 February 2026 to clear the blockage and conduct a CCTV survey to assess if the pipe is damaged.

Unfortunately, the manhole we need to access the sewer is at the corner of Robertson Avenue and Gorgie Road. Traffic management in the form of four-way temporary lights will therefore be in place from 7pm but will be removed by the morning.

We appreciate with the full closure of Gorgie Road nearby for our Improving Urban Waters project this will cause further inconvenience to road users, but the work is urgent and needs to be carried out as quickly as possible.
